Use AI Edge Copilot

AI Edge Copilot is the assistant inside Studio and Optimizer, currently in beta. It can explain what you are looking at, help edit a script, prepare a New Study setup and use tools your account can access. It uses AI services to answer; it does not run entirely on your device.

Beta

Copilot is in beta on AI Edge's test service. It is not currently available on the live service. When the experimental service is enabled, every paid plan can use Copilot. That includes Pro, Max and the Patreon tiers Trader, Trader Plus, Trader Legacy, Trader Pro and Trader Max. Copilot does not need a Trader Max Boost. Free accounts do not have access. Turning on its switch does not grant access to an ineligible account. The separate hosted AI-assistant connection needs Max and has its own requirements, including admission to its beta.

Turn It On

  1. Sign in to an eligible account and open the account menu at the bottom of the sidebar.
  2. Open Studio Settings, then Experimental.
  3. Turn on AI Edge Copilot. The first time, read the Copilot Beta Agreement and select Agree. Copilot stays off if you select Cancel. This preference is saved for your account in this browser.
  4. Select the Copilot button at the bottom right, or press Ctrl+J (⌘J on a Mac).
  5. Describe what you want. For a first request, ask it to explain the current page before asking it to change anything.

If your account does not have access, follow the access message. If a session expires, sign in again. A switch being on is not proof that the service has admitted the account.

Choose How Actions Are Approved

Choose Ask First, Auto or YOLO beside the model in the chat. YOLO Mode is also a switch in Experimental settings. Turning that switch off returns to Ask First.

ModeWhat runs without askingWhat still asks
Ask FirstBuilt-in reading and web search; tools you explicitly set to Auto in Connections; code changes you allow for that chat.Other changes.
AutoBuilt-in reading, web search, undoable code edits in Studio and tools you set to Auto in Connections.Built-in deletes, spending and other changes. After the chat reads outside text, further changes ask again.
YOLOActions run without approval, using your account permissions. Long replies do not pause to check in.Account access, tool permissions and service limits still apply.

YOLO Mode can change or delete data and spend credits through actions your account is allowed to perform. Switching to YOLO also approves actions already waiting. Leaving YOLO while a reply is running stops that reply so it cannot continue without asking.

Read an action's details before approving it: check the script or setup being replaced, the account and connected service involved, and any credit cost. A prepared New Study setup is not a running study; review it before starting.

Skills and Connections

Select Manage Skills and Connections in Experimental settings, or open the corresponding settings in the Copilot panel.

  • Skills give the assistant reusable instructions. Upload one Markdown file, or a ZIP containing SKILL.md, within the limits shown. You can enable, disable, replace or delete your uploaded skills. Built-in skills can be inspected but cannot be edited or deleted.
  • Connections give the assistant tools from a service. Add Server accepts the public HTTPS address of a supported Model Context Protocol (MCP) server. Follow its sign-in steps, inspect the tools it exposes and choose each tool's permission. Ask requests approval; Auto lets the tool run under the displayed approval rules. Read the warning before allowing a destructive tool to run automatically.
  • The built-in AI Edge connection shows which actions your plan permits. Copilot access does not itself grant access to these tools: their own access rules can make them unavailable or read-only. An approval setting does not unlock a paid action or bypass server checks.

A skill's instructions and a connected service's replies can influence the assistant. Only add instructions and services you are willing to include in the conversation.

What Is Shared

By default, AI Edge doesn't collect or keep your scripts. Copilot is an optional Beta program: it sends content to AI services only after you accept the Copilot Beta Agreement. While Copilot is in Beta, AI Edge uses what you share with it to provide Copilot, keep it secure and improve AI Edge's products, as that agreement explains. AI Edge doesn't show your scripts or strategies to other members.

Messages, code, attached images, enabled skill instructions and tool results can be sent to the AI services used to answer. A connected tool can send the information needed for its request to that service. Copilot conversations and account-managed skills or connections are stored by the service; local editing alone does not keep an assistant conversation on your device.

Review the connected service's permissions and privacy terms before sending private scripts or data. The storage and recovery guide explains Studio's other data flows, and the privacy policy covers AI Edge's service policy.
